Why Transparency Matters
With politics growing increasingly complex, especially at the local level, it can become ever more challenging to comprehend and monitor decisions and processes. This might cause distrust and political lethargy. For this reason and because we were elected by the people of Frankfurt, we have decided to make all our actions transparent.
Our 'Transparency-List'
As part of their function as representatives, politicians have to listen to various actors – be it activists, experts, NGOs or businesses – to make informed decisions. We are often invited to such meetings, but also extend invitations ourselves in order to hear different opinions on our policy. We believe it is important for the citizens of Frankfurt to know which organisations we meet with. Therefore, we publish a list of all those extra-parliamentary groups.
How We Make Frankfurt More Transparent
Voluntary measures like our ‘Transparency-List’ are important, but they do not suffice to make politics more transparent as a whole. That is why we would like Frankfurt to become a member of ‘Transparency International‘ in order to implement a compulsary code of conduct for municipal politicians. By doing so, we hope to ensure transparency.

How We Spend Our Funds (in %)
The members of the ‘Stadtverordnetenversammlung’ are not paid. But their factions receive funding which they spend on political work. How much funding each faction gets is decided by how many representatives they have in the ‘Stadtverordnetenversammlung’ and ‘Ortsbeiräte’. In 2022, ‘Volt im Römer’ got ~202.000€. Here we publish how we spend this money (figures in percent). As of 2023, we have one less person representing Volt in the ‘Ortsbeiräte’. This will cause us to fall below a certain threshold when calculating the funding we are eligible to receive. Hence, we will receive much less funding.
